MOST COMMON QUESTIONS

At daycare we get asked a lot of questions on a daily basis. This is highly understandable when you are dropping of your fur baby for the first time. We hope these commonly asked questions and answers help.

What do I need to do before a trial

First we are very grateful that you are choosing the dawg house for all your doggy needs. When wanting to book a trial you need to head on to the trial session page (this can be located under the services title at the top). We then ask that you fill in all the form and send it off to us. We will then get back to you as soon as possible.

Before a trial there are a few things you need to know; all dogs must be up to date with their kennel cough vaccine, we do not accept aggressive dogs, male dogs are not allowed to be intact after the age of 1. Females cannot attend in season. Once we have got back to you we will arrange a date a time for your dog to attend a trial.

How to book daycare

To book your dog in at daycare you need to head online to our website. From there you selct the book online page. You can then either pay per day or book one of our packages. You then head on to the calandar and select the days you would like. Please note we do get booked up about a week in advance especially on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

What do I need to bring

On a daily basis all you need to bring is your furry friend and any food that they have during the day. We provide the rest. We do ask that they are either wearing a collar or a harness for safety reasons. Please also make sure if you are bringing yours dogs food that it is in a sealable package with their name written on. We do have a lot of dogs who have food during the day therefore cannot remember whose is who's.

Do the dogs go for a walk

Unfortunately due to the amount of dogs we have during the day it is not possible to take all the dogs for a walk. However our new unit (unit 15) will have an outdoor area that the dogs can enjoy. We also do offer adventure trips on some weekends where we take dogs to a secure outdoor play area.

How does home boarding work

We do offer a home boarding service alongside daycare. To book home boarding you need to head over to the website and fill in an enquiry form. We will then check the diaries and see if we are able to accommodate the dates requested. Please note we can get booked up months in advance especially over the summer and bank holidays. If we are able to board your dog for the dates requested you will be asked to do a trial night to make sure they are able to settle at home and with other dogs I am boarding. When dogs are boarding they will attend daycare during the day then come home with myself for the night. They will then have a nightly walk to help them settle and be ready for bed. During the weekends we will have lots of time out and about on walks or off on an adventure trip.

What is the adventure trips

We offer adventure trips on a saturday or Sunday a couple of times a month. This is always to a secure field so dogs can be off lead even if they do not have good re call. To find out about our up and coming trips follow our social media accounts. We post regularly when our next trip is and where it is to and how many spaces we have available. Trip destinations include my dog meadow, dogs go live, unleashed at wrenbury, micklehead dog run, exclusive acreas dog park and off the leash. At lot of these trips include water activities so if your dog is not a confident swimmer we do ask you provide a life jacket

What is a trial session?

A trial session is a 5 hour session at daycare that your dog must attend before being able to book in online yourselves. By attending a trial session it allows us to access your doing and make sure that our daycare is going to be the best environment for them. Daycares are great at offering socialisation and help with things such as separation anxiety but can sometimes be to overstimulating for some dogs. A trial cost £18 and run from 9.30am till 2.30pm. Where do they use the toilet

Unit 3 is an indoor only environment but we do have grass area that they can use. We are also on hand to clean up after the dogs once they have used the toilet. Unit 15 will have an outdoor area as well as grassed space inside.

Do they get separated in size

At the dawg house we believe all dogs should mix regardless of their size or breed. However, we do have separate areas that we can use to separate any dogs. We typically use this areas for puppies to have naps, dogs that do not want to join in high energy games, if we have a lot of smaller dogs in, if we have a few puppies in or older dogs. This tends to get judged on a daily basis. Dogs are always supervised in the different areas.

Do dogs get seperated?
